The Herb Route

Bring a bag and scissors for cutting fresh herbs.

Ascent/descent: 430 m/430m Highest point: 590 m

Start route: from Nerja follow the A-7 towards Almeria or the N-340. You turn towards Cueva de Nerja (Wine Cellar).

Parking: continue at the Cueva de Nerja because it is paid parking there, to the next parking lot, a little further on. You can also park further in the park, but the parking spaces there are limited.

1. You will see this sign at the entrance to the walk. Follow the path and walk past the sign saying Parc Natural.

2. Follow this path to the next parking lot. Along the way you will encounter the first herb, sage.

3. Walk straight ahead and a little further to the right at the sign below (Sendero).

4. From now on, follow the route where the arrows indicate which direction you should walk.

5. Along the way you will first see rosemary and later you will come across thyme. You will find sage throughout the entire walking route. Continue until you reach the highest point. You then see the sea.

6. Highest point: view over the sea at Nerja.

7. From here, turn around and walk the route back to the starting point.
