Nerja has many restaurants, not all of which we know yet. We can recommend a number of the restaurants that we visited.

General tip:

If you go out for dinner in the evening and don't want to take the car, you can easily walk to the village (about 3.5 km) and then take a taxi back. A taxi ride from the center to Punta Lara costs about 10 euros. (taxi telephone number is listed at the contact addresses.

From near to further away:

1.  Snack Bar next to the pool. Only open during the spring and summer months. Grandma bakes delicious garlic chicken. Take your time and don't be in a hurry, because Grandma needs time to prepare it as fresh as possible.
2.  Restaurant Avalon - Hostal Avalon, Punta Lara, 22, 29780 Nerja, Málaga, Spain. Down the hill. Not very cheap, but tasty! And close. Reservations are usually necessary. +34952520698
3.  Chirinquito Mauri – First eatery on the beach El Playazo Delicious fresh paella. Usually freshly ready between 1:30 PM and 3:30 PM. Also a nice place for an evening beer at sunset in the months of November, December, January and February
4.  Merendero Cobos - First eatery on Playa Torrecilla. Here too, it is best to have lunch between 1:00 PM and 4:00 PM (the normal eating time for the main meal of the Spaniards. Delicious Paella here too!
5.  Cafe Bar Michel. C. Mérida, 10, 29780 Nerja, Málaga, Spain – Behind the Perle Marina hotel. Belgian owners, very pleasant service. Are you hungry and homesick for a croquette or fricandel sandwich? A Belgian beer? Then you have to be here!
6.  Lisbeth's Nerja, Av. Mediterraneo, Local 3, 29780 Nerja, Málaga, Spain, Lunch restaurant behind the large hotel Rui Monica. Dutch/Danish owners with matching lunch menu
7.  LO DE SERGIO - Restaurante & Grill - Steak House. Av. Mediterraneo, s/n, 29780 Nerja, Málaga, Spain. +34952749973 (reservations are recommended) Rui Monica is in the same row. Delicious Argentinian grill restaurant with good meat at a reasonable price.
8.  Vitalianoda Cristina – Italian. Calle Castilla Perez, 21 Ed.B, loc.G, 29780 Nerja. +34952528341. dogs welcome. Delicious garlic pizza! Good Italian dishes. Less atmospheric inside, but very attentive service.
9.  La Bottega (in the same row) Cozy restaurant for classic Mediterranean and Italian dishes, with terrace and sea view. Slightly more expensive, but delicious food. Also a good ambiance inside. Reservations are necessary! +34951571434
10. Bamboo (last in the list) Avenida, Calle Castilla Pérez, 21C, 29780 Nerja, Málaga, Spain. If only for the view... With a new owner, the dishes have improved.
11. Ristorante Bella Roma. Pl. Balcón de Europa, s/n, 29780 Nerja. Best Italian! Tastiest calzone. Reservations required. You can also do this before going for a walk around the shops.
12. Albi Urban Cafe, Balcón de Europa. Pl. Balcóe Europa, 7, Local 2, 29780 Nerja. Delicious waffles! To have lunch.
13. Little Italy Restaurant and La Dama. C. Hernando de Carabeo, 17, 29780 Nerja. 2 dirt-cheap Italian restaurants next to each other. For 10 euros you can have a pizza and 2 drinks. Quality is not great, but it is an experience to eat here once. Just stand in line until a table becomes available.
14. Thaipasbar SomSom. C. Almte. Ferrándiz, 70, 29780 Nerja. +34641160157 – reservations required. Thai and Indonesian specialities. Rice table available upon order in advance
15. Bar Redondo. C. de la Gloria, 10, 29780 Nerja. Original Spanish Tapas bar.
16. Café Bar las Cuatro Esquinas. C. Pintada, 55, 29780 Nerja, The tastiest Churros!
17. Restaurante Asiatico Yuan. Av. Ciudad de Pescia, 99, 29780 Nerja. +34952520450 – advance reservation required! Delicious Chinese! Not like in the Netherlands, much better!
